Good morning everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Art/ist Round-up.
My 5 discoveries, in no particular order, are:
‘Minotaurs’ by Paul Reid
Starting things off this week with an exceptional painting by Paul Reid. I’ve been a long-time admirer of Paul, and love his paintings that draw on mythologies. The composition, detail, and use of light are incredible. I think we can all agree, this is the work of a true master.‘Love Potion’ by Sasha Katz
There’s a tenderness to this piece that really draws me in and reveals more every time you watch it. What appears mostly static is actually filled with subtle details.
The auction literature is below for more insight.
”The piece explores the potential repercussions of consuming love potions and invites the viewer to contemplate the multifaceted nature of love, obsession, and desire.”

💻 Sotheby’s
↳ Available here‘The Weight of the World’ by Shavonne Wong
Another artist that I’m a huge fan of (there’s a trend in this week’s newsletter). This wonderful piece from Shavonne has been released to coincide with the launch of her new solo exhibition ‘The Ties That Bind’. The art is terrific, but what makes it even more interesting is how the number of sales will affect the final piece. It’s a great way of utilising and experimenting with the NFT format. Love it.

💻 Transient Labs
↳ Available here‘Concrete Dreams’ by enri
This collection of AI-assisted photographs from Enri is wonderful. Beautiful black and white photography that reflects the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi (侘寂), in celebrating imperfections, and simplicity. It’s a project that for me, perfectly utilises AI; the seams between the two mediums are not visible, nor are they obvious. I don’t look at these pieces and want to find their inner workings, I simply want to be with them and enjoy.

💻 Foundation
↳ Available on primary here‘Reflection’ by Jeroen Verhulst
I’ve been a fan of Jeroen for some time now, and happy to say I hold a few of his pieces on Solana. This new collection of work moves away from urban environments and vibrant colours, instead bringing tons of atmosphere with striking black-and-white photography. A bold move in a new direction!
