Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of Art/ist Round-up.

My 5 discoveries (in no particular order) are:

  1. ‘Seeing Signs (Corner of my Eye)’ by ODD JOBS

I’m a long-time collector of ODD JOBS art, and his latest piece is another exceptional work. I love the colour choices, abstract mark-making, graffiti, and use of industrial textures. A great piece.

  2. ‘liar’ by MDD

I love this piece from MDD. There’s a richness here, the textures, layering, and overall composition are fantastic. I’m amazed this piece is still available. If only I had the ETH.

  3. ‘On Some High’ by Alex Mack

Blending two mediums can be a tall order, and takes great skill to pull off. ‘On Some High’ by Alex Mack is a perfect example of how to do it right. The watercolour marks play so well with the photography, bringing a colourful beauty to the work. Absolutely wonderful.

  4. ‘Magdeburg hemispheres’ by Reine

This latest piece by Reine immediately caught my attention. I love the colour choices, the flowing marks, and how they sometimes bleed into one another. This painting is beautiful, and I can’t stop looking at it.

  5. ‘The Cross We Embrace’ by Symbolic Artist

I really like the strong choices in mark-making, some elements feel well-defined while others blend and blur into one another. It’s a piece that draws you in and makes you examine every square inch. Love it.
